Become a Volunteer

Sara’s Garden is so grateful to all of the people and organizations who have donated so much time and energy to make this such a successful project.

If you or someone you know would be interested in being a volunteer for Sara's Garden, we would welcome your participation and involvement.

We currently have the following volunteer programs established for your participation:

    Gardening Hands

Gardening Hands are always needed and welcome volunteers. They are short-term and long-term. They tend to do the “dirty work” and appear to enjoy it.

Many have served during our fundraisers; serving and preparing food, donating and collecting auction items, advertising, running errands, sharing of talents, organizing, lifting and setting up tables and chairs, etc.

Many have assisted in the pouring of cement, the laying of brick, the painting of walls, the changing of light bulbs, the pulling of weeds and the planting of flowers.  Many have provided professional services at no cost.

Many have preserved Sara’s Garden and its clients and staff in prayer and many others have answered “here I am, take me, take me” when a surprise need has arisen.

    Seed Sowers

Seed Sowers are individuals or organizations willing to creatively “sow seeds” of kindness and compassion at Sara’s Garden through their special gifts, talents and areas of expertise.

A group of area quilters from the Delta-Wauseon area have generously and lovingly chosen to maintain a supply of beautifully hand-crafted child-size comforters to be gifted to each child receiving treatment at Sara’s Garden. Each child and their family beam with emotion at this outward expression of compassion.

A neighbor to Sara’s Garden has been meticulously caring for the lawn at for the last year. He continues to express a desire and love for this work, and we dearly appreciate his heart.

Senior Engineering students from the University of Toledo chose to support Sara’s Garden through their Senior Projects. One project consisted of an overall cost projection and development presentation of the property, while the second project consisted of the design of a client lift and transportation device specifically developed for our HBOT chamber.

The Fulton County Soil and Water Conservation has initiated and pledges to continue with the environmental development of the property at Sara’s Garden.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call (419) 335-SARA, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday.
